Back in September 2012, one of my first posts on Hungarian Success Stories was about Nanushka, the Hungarian fashion label founded by Sandra Sandor. The brand has been developing exceptionally well since then and it is getting more and more attention by fashionistas, popular international blogs and fortunately by buyers, too.
The Nanushka Spring & Summer 2013 collection is very successful, and regardless of their age and preference a lot of women will definitely find a few favorite pieces. Soft and warm color tones accompany légère, airy cuts and the overall appearance of the Nanushka pieces transmit a carefree, easy and dreamy lifestyle that puts us into a perfect state of mind for the coming summer season.
For the SS13 collection, the designer took inspiration from a Hungarian tale “Világszép Nádszál Kisasszony” (in English: The World’s Most Beautiful Mademoiselle) written by Hungarian writer, Elek Benedek, whose lovely folk tales and stories are deeply rooted in our culture. Nanushka custom-made prints designed by Sandra herself show the adventures of a prince, his quest to find the most beautiful princess and to rescue her from captivity. He does not mind traveling far, passing mountains and seas, taking all the hurdles and fighting dragons – just to find the princess of his heart, based on Elek Benedek’s tale.
The tale inspired prints by Nanushka are very cute indeed. Some of the details e.g. on bags and shoes in the collection also show a few traditional and authentic Hungarian motifs reinterpreted to our times, making also this collection unmistakably Nanushka. … just to add even more excitement to the brand, fantastic Hungarian super model Vanessa Axente is the face of Nanushka’s SS13 image campaign. What a match!
